Full-leg or half-leg waxing: which should I book?

Book Legs (Full) for your entire leg, including your feet and toes. For half-leg waxing, upper leg runs from the knee up; lower leg runs from the knee down through your foot and toes. The online Legs (Half) listing describes Upper Leg, so if you want lower leg, email Lena at hello@thewaxingsociety.com before booking a suitable half-leg appointment.

If you have opened our online booking system and found two leg services, you are not the first to pause on the button. “Legs (Full)” and “Legs (Half)” sound simple until you start picturing where one stops and the other begins.

This guide is here to help you choose, tell you what is worth confirming before you book, and share a few practical notes on getting ready and looking after your skin afterward.

The short version

  • Legs (Full): your entire leg, including feet and toes, in one appointment.
  • Upper leg: from the knee up. The online Legs (Half) description says “Upper Leg.”
  • Lower leg: from the knee down through foot and toes. If that is the area you want, email hello@thewaxingsociety.com to confirm with Lena before booking a suitable half-leg appointment.

What the booking menu says

In our online booking system, “Legs (Full)” and “Legs (Half)” are two separate services, both listed under Body Waxing. Full leg covers the entire leg, including feet and toes.

The Legs (Half) description says “Upper Leg,” which means from the knee up. Lower leg means from the knee down through foot and toes, but there is no separate Lower Leg choice on the online menu. If you want lower leg, email hello@thewaxingsociety.com to confirm with Lena before booking a suitable half-leg appointment.

How to choose

Start with what you want your legs to look like when you walk out, not with what the label sounds like.

  • You want your entire leg, including feet and toes: book Legs (Full).
  • You want upper leg from the knee up: the online Legs (Half) listing describes Upper Leg.
  • You want lower leg from the knee down through foot and toes: email Lena at hello@thewaxingsociety.com to confirm before booking a suitable half-leg appointment.
  • You are weighing Half against Full: think about the area you want waxed and what will remain unwaxed. If you are still unsure, Lena can help you choose.

What to ask before you book

If you want lower leg or are weighing Half against Full, a quick message to Lena can help you choose. You might ask:

  • ‘I want my lower leg, from the knee down through foot and toes. Can you confirm the right half-leg appointment to book?’
  • ‘Would Legs (Full) get me the result I want instead?’
  • ‘If I start with Half, can I choose Full at a later visit?’
  • ‘How should I choose if I come back within eight weeks and might switch services?’

Getting ready

Our first-time waxing guide covers preparation in more detail, so we will not repeat all of it here. A few points matter for legs in particular.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) says hair should be about one-quarter to three-quarters of an inch long before waxing, and that longer hair is better trimmed shorter first. It also advises washing and drying the area beforehand, because clean, dry skin helps the wax adhere. Its guidance is written for waxing at home, so it is general advice rather than our exact routine. If you are unsure about your hair length, ask when you book.

The AAD also says not to wax sunburned or very sensitive skin, and not to wax if you have taken isotretinoin in the last six months. Tell Lena about sunburn, sensitive skin, and any skincare or medication you use, such as retinoids, before she starts. If you are unsure whether waxing is right for you, check with your doctor first.

Aftercare for your legs

Lena gives you aftercare recommendations chosen for you at every visit, and those come first. As general tips, the AAD suggests these for soothing skin after waxing:

  • Apply a cold pack if the skin is sore.
  • Avoid hot baths and showers for a while.
  • Wear loose clothing.
  • Use a moisturizer that will not clog your pores, such as one labeled “oil-free” or “non-comedogenic.”

The AAD adds that redness or swelling that lasts more than two days is a reason to see a board-certified dermatologist. For any medical or skin-health concern, speak with a healthcare professional.

Booking your appointment

Choose “Legs (Full)” or “Legs (Half)” in our online booking system, where you will see the current details and the studio’s appointment policy. Returning guests: the booking page words the returning-within-eight-weeks Society Rate by service (“previous full leg wax” and “previous half leg wax”), so if you are thinking of switching between the two, check the booking page for how it applies.
